About Christina Malecka, MA, LMHC

Therapy for the Full Complexity of Being Human

Meet Christina Malecka, MA, LMHC

Before I became a therapist, I spent sixteen years as a grassroots organizer for environmental and social justice organizations. I’ve done fringe theater, sketch comedy, and political performance art in Seattle. I tell you this because it shaped everything about how I work. I think systemically, I take liberation seriously, and I genuinely love people who operate outside the mainstream.

For more than twenty years, I’ve worked alongside people navigating grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, identity, relationships, life transitions, and questions that don’t always have easy answers.

I don’t see people as problems to be solved. I see them as complex human beings carrying stories, strengths, wounds, contradictions, and possibilities.

what I bring into the room

I’m a white, cisgender, queer woman living with a disability related to Rheumatoid Arthritis. I hold privilege related to race, socioeconomic status, and other aspects of identity, and I take seriously my ongoing responsibility to do anti-oppression work and decolonize my practice.

Emotional well-being doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Our mental health is shaped by culture, community, systems, and the realities of the world we live in, not just our personal histories.

As a lifelong activist, I believe individual healing and collective transformation are deeply connected. Therapy can be a powerful form of personal liberation, helping us challenge harmful narratives, reconnect with ourselves, and create more meaningful ways of living.

My People

I've always been drawn to artists, writers, performers, and activists. To LGBTQIA+ individuals, to other therapists, and to people who've never quite fit the mainstream mold. My own path through activism, fringe theater, and Seattle's creative community taught me what that territory holds: real beauty and real vulnerability. I'm also drawn to people in the fuller chapters of life, who are reckoning with who they've become and who they still want to be.

What You Can
Expect from Me

Clients tend to describe me as warm, loving, direct, curious, and deeply engaged. Humor matters to me, not as a way to avoid hard things, but because laughter is part of being human.

I’ll meet you with compassion and honesty. I’ll challenge you when it’s useful. I’ll take your questions seriously.

Most importantly, I will see you as a whole person, not a diagnosis.

Because therapy isn’t about becoming someone else.
It’s about becoming more fully yourself.
